Payment for medicine
Following successful fundraising at Ivana Kupala party, Ukraine Charity donated £5,000 to Lifeline to pay for medicine for several Ukrainian children to help cure cancer.
http://www.lifelinegb.org has for 10 years provided treatment and care for Ukrainian children with cancer without which they would have had little chance of survival.

Supporting family-type orphanage in Dnipropetrovsk region
Thanks to amazing fundraising efforts of Antoine Pesenti during the London Marathon, Ukraine Charity donated £2,000 towards a roof refurbishment for a family-type orphanage in a village Voloske in Dnipropetrovsk region. The Pinchuk family is raising 10 children and we encourage you to read their request for help.

Information Resource Centre in Ternopil
Thanks to fundraising efforts of Christina Dmytryk, a singer in Rock Choir, Ukraine Charity contributed £1,870 towards creation of the Information Resource Centre for orphaned teenagers in Ternopil, to help equip them with necessary knowledge and social skills to integrate into the society. The Information Resource Centre was initiated and is run Ternopil-based “Orphans Future” foundation.

Playground for children in Velykopolovetsky village, Kyiv region
Ukraine Charity financed construction of a
new playground for children in a Velykopolovetska special school. The total cost was £1,500.
Computer class for Berezhanska orphanage-school in Ternopil region
Ukraine Charity financed computer equipment (five computers and a laser printer, total cost £1,385) for 165 children and 30 caregivers of the Berezhanksa orphanage-school in Ternopil region. The Computer Lab Project was initiated and is run by former orphans, the volunteers of the Ternopil-based
“Orphans Future” foundation. The goal of the project is to provide children of the rural state-run orphanages in the Ternopil region with free access to modern education technologies so these youths can compete and excel once they transition from the orphanage into the real world.

New washing machine for social centre in Mykolaiv
Ukraine Charity purchased a new washing machine and a lawn mower for a social rehabilitation centre Aulyady in Mykolaivsk region, which hosts 60 boys between 11 and 17 years old. Planet Help

Support for a family type orphanages in Kirovograd region
Ukraine Charity sponsored family-type orphanage “Karavela” of Bugayovi family in Kirovograd region by funding a purchase of essential domestic equipment which brings a massive improvement in a daily life of a busy orphanage. Bugayovi family has been adopting and raising more than 16 children over the last 10 years. Both being sate teachers with an extremely modest incomes Oleg and Ludmyla Bogayovi have been giving their love and care to help underprivileged children to regain their lives, an opportunity to experience a childhood within a family and, ultimately, be taken off the path of street life and criminal future.
Across years, the family went through many challenges, however, their courage and drive remained unbeatable. Ukraine Charity is proud to support this truly remarkable family in helping them to purchase domestic equipment like fridge, family kitchen table, mattresses and other essentials (please, click here for a full report). This will help to run daily routine easily and will leave more time for the family to put efforts in raising 3 newly adopted children in addition to another 7! Sporting equipment and dormitory supplies for orphans in Ternopil Region
Ukraine Charity purchased sporting equipment to help sponsor the newly refurbished Gym Room at the Berezhany Orphanage. The new room included a ping pong table, climbing wall, training bikes and equipment such as balls and jump ropes. Ukraine Charity also provided gift packs for orphans entering universities. These included frying pans, pots, irons, electric tea pots, tableware and silverware sets. These projects were organised by Ternopil organisation Orphans Future, founded by alumni of orphanages in the Ternopil region. The total cost was $675.

Preventative and rehabilitation counseling for adolescents in Ternopil Region
Ukraine Charity sponsored a new program by Sober Way of Life at the Berezhany Detention Center for Adolescents in the Ternopil Region. A team of experts including a psychologist, an alcohol dependency therapist and a spiritual mentor will visit the detention center on a weekly basis and work with a select group of boys who have shown desire and commitment to participate in the program and receive guidance and mentorship to help strengthen their resolve against alcohol abuse. Sober Way of Life has developed numerous projects in Ukraine to help prevent and combat alcohol-related problems. The total cost was €1,850.
New medical equipment for Zhytomyr Hospital
Ukraince Charity purchased 5 “B. Braun” infusion pumps for cancer treatment of children in Zhytomyr Hospital. This equipment is crucial for a long-term intense chemotherapy for children suffering from cancer. We belive, that mutual efforts will contribute to see more hapiness of life of children.
Art for Orphans project in Poltava Region
The programme was launched in September 2010 worth over £950. The Art for Orphans Project was initiated by ArteLia under the umbrella of the Ukraine Charity to help Ukrainian orphans learn about art in a fun and engaging way with the assistance of renowned Ukrainian Artists. The program was launched in September 2010 in Poltava region orphanage school with 280 children to allow children to develop their artistic talent through unlimited expression and give the tools for creative solutions in life. The programme will run thought out the whole academic year using the international art materials, namely donated by Sotheby’s and Phillips de Pury auction houses, and expertise and knowledge of Ukrainian Artists. At the end of the academic year, the children would prepare the exhibition and will visit Kiev to attend the Pinchuk Art Centre and other museums to learn the latest trends in contemporary art. This project won’t be excising without you and on behalf of all the children I’d like to convey the gratitude to all your generous donations.
Renewal of gas and water supply in Verhniodniprovsk orphanage
Ukraine Charity donated 3,900 GBP to renew gas and water supply pipes destroyed by summer hurricane in Verhniodniprovsk orphrange No 1 for disable children. Located on a little ecologically clean island next to village Mishuryn Reeg, the orphanage is bringing up 120 boys age 4-25 with deferent physical and mental disabilities. Since July 2009 the orphanage has been cut off from a regular gas and water supply due to a sever damage caused by the hurricane. Surviving from a limited gas supply via emergency pipe until October 2009 the children have been facing a perspective of having no heating for upcoming winter season.

Helping orphanages in Kriviy Rih
Ukraine Charity has purchased 25 beds, 15 wardrobes, pampers and other child-care products for “Kriviy Rih” and “Orlya” orphanages. Our charity has also purchased a machine which produces an oxigen cream to improve children’s immune system. The total cost was £4,200.

Supporting education in Ukraine
Ukraine Charity donated £500 to
Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Dr. Boris Gudziak, Rector of the University, recognised UC’s donation at a reception in his honour at the Embassy of Ukraine in London. The donation will be used to provide textbooks for students at this private institution of higher learning in Western Ukraine.

New medical equipment for a hospital in Zhytomyr
Ukraine Charity donated a new
Briz machine to
Zhytomyrska Oblasna Dytyacha Likarnya, a children’s hospital in Zhytomyr. Produced in Ukraine and costing £7,800, the equipment provides essential intensive therapy for children with lung cancer. This is the hospital’s first Briz machine. Zhytomyrska oblast was severely affected by the Chernobyl tragedy and many of the region’s children are still struggling to build a normal immune system.

Summer camp for 500 orphan-children
Ukraine Charity contributed £6,000 to support annual
Help Us Help the Children (HUHTC)
summer camp held in July 2008 for three weeks in Vorokhta, situated in Western Ukraine’s Carpathian Mountains. The camp’s 500 orphans come from across the country and learn valuable life-skills like First Aid, computers and team-building. They make new friendships, participate in Ukrainian traditions, and are encouraged to learn Ukrainian, as some of the campers come from Russian-speaking Eastern Ukraine.

Refurbishment of the orphanage in Lviv
Ukraine Charity financed refurbishment of the
second and third building in this orphanage which includes residence halls, classrooms, and nurseries. The building was in a run-down state with leaking pipes and decrepit walls and ceilings. Total cost of this refurbishment was £2,300. Ukraine Charity financed the installation of a new central heating and utilities system in the entire building that included 3 floors and a basement (546 square meters). Total cost of this enhancement was £7,200.
